End-to-end encryption (E2EE)

Uninterrupted protection of payment data by encryption along the entire payment processing chain. As soon as the data enters the payment system at a point-of-sale terminal it is encrypted and remains that way until it reaches the processor or acquirer and is then decrypted. Sometimes also called point-to-point encryption (P2PE).
