Rodger Desai on NYSE Live: Why Identity is Becoming the Foundation of the AI Economy

In a recent interview on NYSE Live, Prove CEO Rodger Desai shared his perspective on one of the biggest challenges emerging in the AI economy: trust.

As AI agents become capable of acting on behalf of people by initiating transactions, accessing services, and making decisions autonomously, organizations can no longer rely on identity verification as a one-time onboarding event. According to Desai, businesses need a persistent identity layer that continuously verifies people, businesses, and AI agents across every interaction.

That vision is the foundation behind the newly launched Prove Identity Platform.

During the interview, Desai explained that today’s identity systems are often fragmented, with separate tools for onboarding, authentication, and fraud prevention. These disconnected systems create friction for users and introduce security gaps that sophisticated AI-enabled fraudsters can exploit.

Prove’s approach is different: a connected identity platform designed to establish and strengthen trust throughout the entire customer lifecycle.

Desai highlighted how the platform combines adaptive authentication, proactive identity monitoring, and real-time fraud intelligence into a single identity framework. The goal is to help organizations reduce fraud while also improving the customer experience.

A major theme of the discussion was the rise of agentic commerce and a future where AI agents transact on behalf of consumers. In this environment, Desai noted that the critical question is no longer simply whether a user is legitimate, but whether a real person authorized a specific action for a specific purpose.

Prove believes trusted identity infrastructure will become essential to enabling this next phase of digital commerce.

As Desai emphasized throughout the interview, identity is evolving from a security checkpoint into a core enabler of growth, trust, and seamless digital experiences across industries including banking, fintech, healthcare, commerce, gaming, and crypto.

With AI reshaping how people and businesses interact online, Prove is positioning its Identity Platform as the trust layer built for the AI economy.
